In a recent poll, 3-in-5 Rhode Islanders supported extending marriage rights & responsibilities to same-sex couples. Providence is apparently the 1st state capital with an out gay mayor. Perhaps appropriately for this renaissance town, he's a handsome one at that. David Cicilline, the son of a Jewish mother & an Italian American father, came out as a state legislator.
